James Welling provided ECA
group at May 2002 Meeting with tour of Boron's new Col. Vernon P. Saxon Jr.
Aerospace Museum.
F-4 Phantom of
the type that Col. Saxon flew creates a bold statement about the new museum.
The volunteer
"crew" just completed this memorial wall at the entrance to the new museum.
Bob Johnstone, Phil Brady, James Welling and museum
craftsman Hugh Jamison inspect the nearly completed museum facility. Jamison
who is a retired engineer from the Rocket Site will run the museum when
completed.
The new 5000
square foot museum building was constructed from scratch by a local team of
volunteers. Installation of interior exhibits and furnishings will begin soon.
The grand opening has been targeted for July 2002, or near that time.
